Three countries, two bikes, one anxious wife

In July 2013 my husband and I are setting off on an adventure.

It has long been an ambition of Chris's to explore China by bike. I had long promised my friend Sally who lives in Thailand that I would visit her. Having been given a sabbatical from work, a plan began to take shape. 

Initially Chris planned to take a rickshaw across China carrying me, his unfit wife in the back. I wasn’t keen on this idea as I thought I’d be a bit embarrassed riding all the way (people would think I was lazy), so I foolishly asked if we both could cycle. Chris, worried I would be a liability, but impressed by my enthusiasm, cautiously agreed. 

Having now done a test ride with all my kit I am beginning to think the rickshaw was a good idea. 

The Challenge: 

To cycle from Xi'an in China to Bangkok in Thailand over a period of 5 months.

This is the deal: If I can accomplish this Chris will agree to "settle down" when we return.
